About the Public Administrator
The Public Administrator acts as the court-appointed guardian and/or conservator for minor, disabled, or incapacitated persons. The Public Administrator is responsible for the charge, care, well-being, and quality of life of each person in their care, in the least restrictive environment possible. The office reports annually to the probate court on the financial and physical well-being of each Ward.
Public Administrators may also be appointed personal representative for estates that have no heirs. The office does not petition the court for appointments but serves the County as the Court deems necessary.
