About the Recorder’s Office

The Iron County Recorder’s office is located in the historical courthouse in Ironton, Missouri, which was put into service in October 1860. The office records, indexes, and stores land records, military records, surveys, plats, and tax liens, and also issues marriage licenses.

Until the Election of 2008, the Recorder and Circuit Clerk were a combined office.

Marriage Licenses

Marriage license applications must be submitted in person. Both parties must appear together at the Recorder’s office. See the Marriage Licenses page for requirements.
