Property Tax Information

Property taxes in Iron County are collected by the County Collector’s office. All tax bills are due by December 31st of each year.

Paying Your Taxes

Payments may be made in person at the Collector’s office or by mail. Payments received after December 31st but bearing a December postmark will be considered on-time.

Important: Failure to receive a tax bill does not relieve you of the obligation to pay on time (Section 52.240 RSMo).

Annual Tax Certificate Sale

Properties with delinquent taxes are subject to the annual tax certificate sale, held on the fourth Monday in August at 10:00 AM at the Iron County Courthouse. Properties subject to sale are published in the Mountain Echo for three consecutive weeks prior to the sale.

Merchant & Manufacturer Licenses

If you operate a business selling goods, merchandise, or manufacturing within Iron County, a merchant or manufacturer license is required. The annual fee is $25.00, due no later than December 31st.
